Joe Thurmond is the President of Safe Harbor Financial Group. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan in 1980, majoring in Insurance and Finance. Upon graduation, he worked as an insurance agent for Northwestern Mutual Life for many years.

He spent time as an insurance agent with Mass Mutual for some time before starting his own company, Safe Harbor Financial Group, Inc. in 2008.

Joe specializes in retirement planning, which may include the areas of 401K rollovers, IRA transfers, and retirement income protection.

Joe and his wife have been married 30 years, have 3 children and enjoy traveling. He has also been involved in local community matters, such as serving 12 years on the school board.
